choices from the super elegant to the very basic rental
accommodations. Rentals for every budget, long or short
term, in all the popular areas.
Costa Rica rental properties range from luxury beach
front vacation villas with pool and jacuzzi and all
the ammenities you could ever want to the more rustic
cabinas at the beach or in the tropical rainforest.
From the beaches to the mountains, rainforest to cloud
forest or to the large central valley where most Costa
Ricans live you will find: Villas, Houses, Condos, Apartments,
Vacation rentals, Inns, and Eco lodges, Spas.
Depending on location and personal taste, a small house
or large apartment usually rents for a few hundred dollars
per month. A luxurious house or apartment will go for
$800 to $1500 per month or more. Most affordable houses
and apartments are unfurnished. However, you can usually
buy a complete household of furniture from someone leaving
the country.
Have anything you sign translated into English before
you sign it. Don't sign anything you do not understand
based on the landlord's word of honor.
The Tico Times and Central America Weekly are two places
to start looking. La Nacion is the Spanish language
newspaper with ads. Other sources for finding an apartment
are supermarket bulletin boards and word of mouth.
